Midcentury Spanish Carved Wood Triple Mortar with Wrought Iron Chain

In the Brutalist style. Raw material. Honest form. Three hand-carved wooden mortars, rough-hewn from a single trefoil base — each well worn to a deep, almost mineral patina. Above, a hand-forged wrought iron chain terminates in a hanging ring: industrial in weight, deliberate in presence.

No ornament. No apology. This is an object that worked — grinding spice, holding salt, anchoring a table — and carries that history in every surface.
